Project – NIHA Co-Production Partnership

NIHA Co-Production Partnership launched in July 2021 and is formed of 17 representatives from statutory, voluntary and academic organisations working in the healthy ageing arena. The aim of the Partnership is to bridge the gap between research and practice to facilitate co-production, as well as ignite research ideas and initiatives to support healthy ageing.

Dan Skipper, Chief Executive Officer of Age UK Norwich, is a member and said “It’s really positive to see a wide range of organisations represented on the partnership. We have a big societal challenge in view of a growing, ageing population, who need greater support to manage their health and wellbeing. This is going to require a different approach to the norm, but we have a wealth of experience around the table and some great services to build from. Personally, I’m interested in the role NIHA can play in evaluating what we do already, plus showcasing learning from other UK and global studies so we can introduce that here in Norwich”.

In December 2021, the Partnership launched a public consultation around their lived experience of healthy ageing, what they believe to be the gaps and needs and what NIHA focus should be. The findings from this consultation will inform NIHA research priorities and feed into intervention design and strategy for the organisations involved.
